Yorkshire Sports Dietitians
A very exciting collaboration!

Izzy
I’ve worked as a Dietitian in the NHS for over 10 years, developing a broad range of experience across nutrition and health. My current clinical specialism is Diabetes, and I have previously worked as a Renal Dietitian and supported patients with IBS and other gut-related concerns.
Alongside my clinical career, I’ve always had a passion for sport and physical activity. In 2016, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Sports Nutrition and became a Graduate on the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register. This led me to found Izzy Nutrition, combining my evidence-based nutrition knowledge and clinical experience with my passion for helping people fuel their active lifestyles.
I’m now delighted to be bringing this experience together with Fay through Yorkshire Sports Dietitians. I’m particularly passionate about making nutrition practical and achievable, helping people understand how to fuel their training, support their health and perform at their best.
Sport is a big part of my own life too. I’ve completed several marathons and multiple triathlons, and have a background in team sports, having played both netball and basketball. These experiences have given me first-hand insight into the practical challenges of fueling for training, competition and busy lifestyles.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring the countryside — cycling along country lanes, running on trails or enjoying walks with my family. And, whenever possible, I’ll try to incorporate a wild swim!
I love combining my professional knowledge with my own experiences of being active to help people find nutrition strategies that work in the real world.
Fay
I qualified and registered as a Dietitian in 2012 and have worked clinically ever since, building experience across a wide range of complex medical and nutritional conditions. My clinical background spans renal medicine, gastroenterology, IBS and gastrointestinal surgery, giving me a deep understanding of how nutrition interacts with health, disease, medication, digestion and recovery.
In 2023, I became a Registered Sports Nutritionist, allowing me to bring together two areas I love: clinical nutrition and sport and am lucky to be doing this alongside my great friend and colleague, Izzy. I particularly enjoy helping people navigate the sometimes complicated space where health and performance overlap — whether that means fuelling training, optimising recovery, preparing for an event, managing gastrointestinal symptoms during exercise, or simply learning how to eat well around a busy and active life.
My clinical background also means I understand that eating well is rarely as simple as knowing what to eat. Our relationship with food can be influenced by stress, work, family life, body image, previous experiences of dieting, illness, changing health needs and our own expectations of what we “should” be doing. I take a holistic, individualised approach that considers the whole person rather than focusing solely on calories, weight or a perfect diet.
I have a background as a competitive swimmer and have always loved running and being active. More recently, I’ve combined the two by competing as a GB age-group aquathlon athlete, alongside open-water swimming and Swimrun events. Competing myself has given me an even greater appreciation of the practical realities of fuelling training and racing — the early mornings, busy schedules, tired legs, race-day nerves and the challenge of balancing performance with everything else life throws at you.
My aim is to give you the knowledge, confidence and practical tools to fuel your sport while looking after your health — because ultimately, the best nutrition plan is one that supports both the athlete and the person behind the athlete.
